"ART´S BIRTHDAY" LIVE AT "ARS SONORA & ARS ACUSTICA"

Truna (Andrés Blasco) is a neo-dadaist, or rather a retro-futurist (he is also a founding member of “The Other College of ’Pataphysics”) based in Valencia (Spain). He defines himself as an “auto-luthier”, inventing and designing the musical instruments he plays with. His artistic practice finds his roots in such diverse fields as experimental rock, free improvisation, post-rock, performance art, contemporary dance, circus, sound installations… He is a member of the JOP duo, along with experimental poet Bartolomé Ferrando.
In this new performance, specially developed for the Ars Acustica Art’s Birthday Party 2016, Truna multiplies himself (interacting with video recordings in an open musical structure) forming a trio and playing instruments invented by the artist himself: “atril del futuro” —a music stand from the future—, “chelo-maleta-mágica” —cello-magic-suitcase— and the infamous “toro cósmico” —cosmic bull—. This retro-futuristic one-man orchestra will occupy the whole stereo panorama (left-center-right), in an impossible dialogue that celebrates the possibilities of both the radiophonic medium and sonic schizophrenia.
